I was like, “Okay, I need to pay more attention to this.” Started digging around, found out she tied some record with a five-tournament winning streak. Ended up pulling an all-nighter watching old footage of her. This is the dedication I now have for Nelly’s career, folks. I’m telling you she’s up there with the best in terms of her iron play.
I’ve been following her journey like a hawk ever since. I even dragged my buddy, who couldn’t care less about golf, to watch her with me. He’s almost as into it as I am now. We watched her discuss her current hot streak a few weeks ago, and man it was so cool to hear her talk about how she hopes to maintain it.
I spent a whole weekend just watching her past tournaments. Got the popcorn ready, made a whole event of it. My wife was not amused, but she understands my dedication. She’s been dealing with an injury, apparently, some neck issue. I found it when I checked some news about her, something that’s been bothering her for a bit. Hope she recovers quickly, as I’m pretty sure she will.
Here’s what I did:
- Watched every single game. Seriously, every single one I could find. I feel like I know her play style better than my own now.
- Set up alerts for news. Every time there is any news about Nelly Korda, I wanna be the first to know. So, I set up some Google Alerts, and now my phone is buzzing constantly. It’s great.
- Tried to copy her swing. Okay, this one didn’t go so well. I nearly threw my back out, but it was worth a shot, right? I mean, if you want to be the best, you gotta learn from the best.
Anyway, she’s got this thing about her, right? Confidence, skill, she’s just a total package. And it’s not just me, I’ve seen forums, comments, everyone’s talking about her.
