Okay, so I finally got Chlorinde, and the first thing on my mind was getting her a good weapon. It’s always a bit of a process, figuring out what works best, you know?
Starting Out Simple
First off, I looked at what I already had lying around. You always start there, right? Saves resources. I thought about some of the standard swords.
- I tried slapping on the Black Sword first. Got it from the Battle Pass ages ago. The crit rate is nice, and the little bit of healing doesn’t hurt. It felt… alright. Decent, usable, but nothing spectacular.
- Then I remembered the craftable Fontaine sword, Finale of the Deep. Crafted one up, leveled it a bit. The attack buff is okay, but managing the Bond of Life thing felt a bit clunky sometimes during my rotations. It worked, kinda, but wasn’t super smooth for how I play.
- Briefly considered Lion’s Roar ’cause I had a high refinement one. But keeping pyro or electro on the enemy all the time for the passive? Felt inconsistent for me. Dropped that idea pretty quick.
Moving Up to Better Options
After messing with the 4-stars, I knew I wanted more punch. Her kit feels like it scales really well with good stats, especially crit.
Naturally, I looked at the 5-stars. Her signature weapon, Absolution, was obviously the main target. Managed to pull it after saving up some wishes. Man, what a difference.
Putting Absolution on her just felt right. The base attack is high, and the crit damage secondary stat is huge. That Bond of Life effect on it also synergizes way better than the craftable one, giving a nice damage boost directly. Everything just hit harder and felt smoother. This was clearly the winner for me.
Other 5-Star Thoughts
Now, not everyone gets the signature, I get that. Before I got Absolution, I did think about other 5-stars I had.
- Mistsplitter Reforged came to mind. Great stat stick, lots of crit damage and elemental damage bonus. I borrowed one from another character to test it out. It performed really well, honestly. Damage was very solid. If you have Mistsplitter and don’t want to pull for Absolution, it’s a fantastic option. Felt almost as good, just slightly less tailored for her Bond of Life mechanics.
- I also briefly considered Haran Geppaku Futsu. Good crit rate, some normal attack bonus. It was okay, definitely better than the 4-stars, but I felt Mistsplitter and obviously Absolution were ahead.
Final Conclusion from My Testing
So, after trying out a bunch of swords on Chlorinde, here’s my takeaway from actually playing her with these different options:
Absolution is just the best, hands down. It’s made for her, gives her exactly what she wants – crit damage, attack, and buffs that work perfectly with her kit. Made the biggest difference in my runs.
If you can’t get her signature, Mistsplitter Reforged is a really, really strong second choice. Huge stats, performs great.
For 4-star options, the Black Sword is reliable and easy to use if you have it from the BP. Finale of the Deep is accessible since it’s craftable, but you gotta play around its mechanic a bit more. They work, they get the job done, especially early on, but you’ll feel the upgrade when you get a top-tier 5-star.
That’s basically my journey figuring out her weapons. Started basic, tried a few things, and landed on her signature being the most comfortable and powerful for my gameplay.
