Figuring Out the Costume
Alright, so Halloween was creeping up, you know how it is. I was scratching my head, trying to think of something fun, maybe a bit different this year. Scrolling through stuff online, I kept seeing pictures of Paige Spiranac. You know, the golfer? Always looks sharp, has that distinct sporty but stylish thing going on.

Suddenly, it hit me. Why not try that? Seemed pretty straightforward, recognizable if you know who she is, and honestly, looked kinda comfortable compared to some crazy costumes out there. Plus, I figured it wouldn’t break the bank.
Hunting Down the Gear
So, the mission began. First things first, I needed the core outfit. I broke it down like this:
- A polo shirt – gotta have that classic golf look.
- A golf skirt or skort – something pleated or sporty.
- A visor or maybe a baseball cap – she wears both, but the visor felt more iconic.
- Tall socks – the kind golfers wear.
- Golf shoes or clean white sneakers – luckily, I had some sneakers that worked.
- A golf club – just one, as a prop. Didn’t need a full set!
Finding the polo was easy enough. Had an old one tucked away, but it was kinda faded. I ended up grabbing a cheap one online. Color-wise, I went for a simple white, seemed versatile from her pictures.
The skirt was trickier. I looked around a few sports stores, but golf skirts weren’t exactly cheap. Then I remembered a thrift store nearby. Bingo! Found a plain white pleated tennis skirt that looked close enough. Gave it a good wash, and it was good to go.
Visor time. Checked a couple of places, found a basic white one. Nothing fancy, just needed to look the part.
Socks were easy – just grabbed some knee-high white socks. For the prop, I asked my buddy if I could borrow a single iron. He laughed but handed over an old 7-iron. Perfect.
Putting It All Together
Okay, got all the pieces. Time for a test run. Pulled on the skirt, the polo, the socks, and the sneakers. Looked in the mirror. Yeah, it was coming together. The visor really sealed the deal, gave it that proper golfer vibe.
Getting the details right was next. Paige often has her hair down or in a ponytail. I just went with a simple ponytail pulled through the back of the visor. Easy peasy. Didn’t go crazy with makeup, just kept it natural like she usually does in her playing photos.
Grabbed the 7-iron, practiced a fake swing in the living room. Felt pretty convincing, haha.
The Final Look
So, come Halloween night, I threw on the whole outfit. It felt pretty good, actually. Not too restrictive, easy to move around in. Carried the golf club around, which got a few comments. Some people got it right away, others were like “Are you going golfing?”. It was kinda funny explaining it.
Overall, it was a success! Relatively simple to put together, didn’t cost much, especially with the thrift store find and borrowing the club. It was comfortable too, which is a big win for a Halloween costume. Definitely a fun one to try if you’re looking for something sporty and recognizable.
