Hey guys, so I’ve been messing around with something pretty cool and I just gotta share it with you all. You know how Cam Newton, that NFL quarterback, is always doing those wild celebrations after scoring? Well, I got it into my head to try and see if I could get my kids to mimic some of his moves. It sounded like a fun little project, right? And let me tell you, it turned into a whole thing.

Getting Started
First off, I rounded up my little crew. I’ve got three of them, aged 5, 7, and 9. They’re always up for anything, so getting them on board was easy. I showed them a bunch of clips of Cam Newton doing his thing on the field. The “Superman” pose, the dabbing – all the classics. They were cracking up, especially the little one. He couldn’t stop giggling.
Practice Makes Perfect (Sort Of)
Next, we started practicing. I figured we’d start with the “Superman” since it’s pretty iconic. I demonstrated it a few times, you know, ripping open my shirt like I’m revealing the big “S.” My kids were all over it. The 9-year-old, he nailed it pretty quickly. The 7-year-old was more focused on making airplane noises, and the 5-year-old… well, he tried his best, but it mostly involved rolling around on the floor. It is not a big deal.
- First off, I tried to mimic him, but it turned out not easy as I thought.
- Then I showed some videos to my kids, making sure that they could do it.
- My eldest son can quickly mimic him, and the other two really tried hard.
Dab On ‘Em
Then we moved on to the dab. Oh boy, the dab. I thought this would be easy, but it turned into a hilarious mess. My eldest got it down, no problem. But the other two? It was like watching a confused dance-off. Arms were flying everywhere, heads were bobbing, and at one point, the 5-year-old ended up facing the wrong way. I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe.
The Grand Finale
After a few days of this, we decided to put on a little show for mom. We set up the living room like a football field (as best as we could), and I acted as the announcer. The kids ran in, one by one, “scoring touchdowns” and then busting out their best Cam Newton impressions. It was chaotic, it was silly, and it was absolutely perfect. Mom was in stitches, and the kids were so proud of themselves.
This whole thing started as just a fun way to kill some time, but it ended up being a really great bonding experience. We laughed a lot, we learned some (questionable) dance moves, and we made some memories that I’m sure we’ll be talking about for years. Plus, now I’ve got some great videos to embarrass them with when they’re teenagers. All in all, I’d call this little experiment a touchdown.
