Alright, let’s talk about this firefly pre-farm thing I messed around with today. Figured I’d share my experience, what worked, what didn’t, the whole shebang.

First off, I saw some chatter online about how you can get a head start on firefly collecting. You know, before they’re officially “available” or whatever. Sounded kinda cheesy, but I was bored, so I thought, “Why not?”
So, the first thing I did was Google around for some tips. Found a couple of forum posts and some random YouTube videos – the usual stuff. Most of them pointed to specific areas where fireflies should eventually spawn. Marked those spots on my map, ready to go.
Then, I just started running around. I mean, seriously, that’s all there was to it. Headed to the first spot, expecting to see, you know, something. Nada. Zilch. Just empty space and some weird-looking trees. Okay, no problem, onto the next spot.
Same deal. Emptiness. At this point, I was starting to think this whole thing was a big hoax. But I’m stubborn, so I kept at it. Hit maybe five or six different locations, all supposedly “firefly hotspots.” Still nothing.
Started messing with the time. I figured maybe they only come out at night, duh. Waited till dark, then back to those same spots. Still no luck. Tried fiddling with the settings a bit, thinking maybe my graphics were too low or something and I was missing them. Nope.
Finally, after about an hour of running around like a headless chicken, I actually saw one! A single, lonely firefly floating near some rocks. I almost jumped out of my chair. Clicked on it, boom, got it. ONE firefly.
Kept farming that one spot for another half hour. Managed to snag maybe five more. It was PAINFULLY slow. Like, seriously, mind-numbingly boring.
My conclusion? This “pre-farm” thing is probably not worth the effort. Yeah, I got a few fireflies, but it took forever. I’m betting once they’re officially released, they’ll be way easier to find. I wasted a bunch of time running around for basically nothing.

- What I did: Ran around to a bunch of “hotspots,” messed with the time and settings.
- What worked: Eventually found a single spot with a few fireflies.
- What didn’t: Most of the “hotspots” were empty. The drop rate was abysmal.
Would I do it again?
Nah, probably not. Just gonna wait till they’re properly released. Lesson learned: don’t believe everything you read on the internet. And sometimes, the easiest way is the best way.
