Okay, so I decided to check out the BMW Championship this year. I’ve always heard it’s a big deal, but I’d never actually been. Here’s how it all went down.

Getting Tickets and Stuff
First things first, I needed tickets. I hopped online and looked at the options. There were a few different types, like general admission and some fancier VIP packages. I’m not really a VIP kind of guy, so I just grabbed the regular grounds tickets. They were reasonably priced, especially since I bought them a bit in advance.
The Drive and Parking
The tournament was held at a course a bit of a drive from me. I made sure to map it all out the night before, and packed some snacks for the road. I also, checked for traffic updates the morning. Parking, I had heard, could be a little bit of a pain, so I aimed to get there pretty early.
Turned out, getting there early was a good call. I found a decent spot without too much trouble. They had a bunch of people directing traffic, so it was pretty organized.
Inside the Gates
Once I got parked and made my way to the entrance, I show my digital tickets on the phone, get a quick scan and boom, I was in.
Right away, I was impressed. The course was beautiful, really well-maintained. There were huge crowds, but it didn’t feel overly packed. There was space to move around.
Following the Action
I didn’t have a specific golfer I was rooting for, so I just kind of wandered around, following the crowds to see where the action was. I checked the leaderboards they had set up to see who was playing well.
- I spent some time at the driving range, watching the pros warm up. It’s amazing how far they can hit the ball!
- I staked out a spot near one of the greens for a while and watched a few groups come through.
- Grabbed some food from one of the vendors when the time was right.
The Vibe
Honestly, the best part was just the overall atmosphere. Everyone was super friendly, chatting about the golf, enjoying the weather. It was a really relaxed and fun day.
It’s an all-day affair, so comfortable shoes are a must!

Heading Home
After several hours, I was pretty tired, I started to make my way back to the car. It took a little longer to get out of the parking lot, but it wasn’t too bad. I got back after taking a nice, lazy drive. Put my feet up, and thought, “Yeah, I’d do that again.”
So, that’s my BMW Championship experience. If you’re a golf fan, or even just looking for a fun day out, I’d definitely recommend checking it out!
