Okay, so I saw this picture of Liv Morgan with short hair and I was like, “Woah, that’s a bold look!” I’ve always had long hair, and honestly, I was getting a little bored. So, inspired by Liv, I decided to take the plunge.

First, I spent, like, hours scrolling through Pinterest. I needed more than just that one picture. I wanted to see every possible angle, every variation of short hair on women with kinda my face shape. It was intense. I even watched some YouTube videos of people getting drastic haircuts – you know, just to mentally prepare myself.
The Salon Trip
Then came the actual salon appointment. I booked it with my usual stylist, Sarah, because I trust her. I showed her the Liv Morgan picture and a bunch of others I’d saved. We talked about my hair texture (which is, let’s be honest, a bit frizzy) and what kind of style would actually work for me, not just look good in a photo.
Sarah was super honest, which I appreciated. She was like, “Okay, we can do something similar, but we need to adjust it for your hair type and face shape.” We decided on a slightly longer bob than Liv’s, with some layers to give it some volume and movement. I also wanted to be able to be versatile so I also choose to cut it at my shoulder.
The Big Chop
The actual haircut was… nerve-wracking! I mean, seeing those huge chunks of hair fall to the floor was a little shocking. But Sarah kept reassuring me, and she was constantly checking in to make sure I was happy with the length and the shape.
She also gave me a crash course in styling short hair. Turns out, it’s not necessarily less work than long hair. You have to style it, or it just looks… messy. She showed me how to use some texturizing spray and a round brush to get that “effortless” look. It takes some practice, I’m not gonna lie.
The Results!
So, the final result? I actually love it! It’s definitely different, and it took some getting used to, but I feel… I don’t know… lighter? More edgy? It’s definitely a confidence booster.
- Pros: Feels lighter, looks edgier, and surprisingly versatile.
- Cons: Requires styling, and that initial shock of seeing all your hair on the floor is real!
Would I recommend it? If you’re thinking about it, do your research, find a stylist you trust, and go for it! It’s just hair, it’ll grow back… eventually. But for now, I’m rocking this short hair and feeling pretty good about it.
