Okay, so I was following the John Deere Classic this weekend, yeah, the golf tournament. And I gotta say, I was really rooting for Rory McIlroy. I mean, the guy’s a beast, right?

So, I woke up early on Saturday, made myself a big cup of coffee, and turned on the TV. I was flipping through the channels, trying to find the coverage. Finally, found it!
Started watching, and Rory was playing… okay. Not his best, not his worst. He made some good shots, missed a few putts. You know, the usual golf rollercoaster.
Sunday
Woke up, and the first thing I did was check the leaderboard on my phone. Rory was a few shots back. Not impossible, but he needed a really good round.
- Checked the weather: sunny, a little bit of wind.
- Grabbed some breakfast.
- Turned on the golf, fingers crossed.
I was watching every shot, holding my breath every time he lined up a putt. He had a few birdies, which was great, got the adrenaline pumping! But then…a couple of bogeys. Ugh. It’s so frustrating when that happens, you feel it yourself, even though you are just watching and he is actually playing.
As the final round progressed, it became pretty clear. He wasn’t gaining enough ground. He needed to be practically flawless, and the other guys at the top were playing really well, too.
In the end. Yep. Rory missed out. Bummer. But still he played! And next time!
