Okay, so today I decided to mess around with some 2v2 decks in Clash Royale. I’ve been playing this game on and off for years, and 2v2 is always a fun, casual way to kill some time.

Getting Started
First, I jumped into a few random 2v2 matches just to get a feel for what people were playing. I noticed a lot of Mega Knight, a lot of E-Barbs (of course), and surprisingly, a good amount of Hog Rider.
I thought to myself, “Okay, let’s try to build something that can handle these common threats.”
Building the Decks
- Deck 1: Hog Cycle 2.0
I started with a classic Hog Rider cycle deck. I really like using the 2.6 hog but I figured I needed to give it a little more in this situation.
I added Hog, of course, then Ice Spirit, Skeletons, and Fire Spirit for cheap cycle cards. Musketeer is my favorite for the range. I use the Log and Fireball, I love how versatile they are. Finally, I threw in a Cannon, to deal with tanks and buildings for some extra stopping power, I prefer it over the Tesla.
The strategy here is pretty simple: cycle fast, chip away at the towers, and defend with the Cannon and Musketeer.
- Deck 2: Golem Beatdown
Next, I wanted to try a heavier deck. I went with Golem, because, well, it’s Golem. You can’t go wrong.
I paired it with Night Witch, Baby Dragon, and Lumberjack for that classic beatdown synergy. I always run the Lumberjack with my Golem Decks. I included Tornado because it’s amazing with Baby Dragon and can pull troops into the Golem’s death damage. For spells, I chose Zap and Lightning, Lightning can be a life saver and the Zap is always handy.
This deck is all about building up a massive push and overwhelming the opponent.

- Deck 3: Graveyard Control
Lastly, I wanted to experiment with Graveyard. It’s a card I enjoy, but don’t use super often, just for fun!
I built around Graveyard and Poison, obviously. I added Knight and Valkyrie for defense and mini-tanks. I’ve always liked these two cards. Baby Dragon is back for splash damage, and I included Ice Wizard for his slow-down effect. To round it out, I picked Tornado (again, so good!) and Tombstone for defense and to distract troops.
This deck focuses on controlling the game, defending efficiently, and then counter-pushing with Graveyard.
Testing and Results
I played several 2v2 matches with each deck. I did my best to communicate with my teammates via emotes, it’s always a gamble when playing with randoms!
The Hog Cycle deck did surprisingly well. It was able to out-cycle a lot of opponents, and the Cannon was clutch against Mega Knight, and the Fireball was nice to counter swarms. The Golem deck was, predictably, a powerhouse when I could get a good push going. But it struggled against fast cycle decks or decks with a lot of air defense. I had the most fun with the Graveyard deck. It felt very satisfying to control the game and then drop a sneaky Graveyard for the win. It was a little weak against really aggressive decks, though.
Overall, it was a fun session! 2v2 is always a bit chaotic, but that’s part of the charm. I’ll probably keep tweaking these decks and trying out new combinations. It’s all about experimenting and finding what works for you and your play style.
